Sydney was ranked Canada's #3 prospect prior to the 2023 CFL draft, although he ultimately went unselected. Sidney recorded his first career interception and a touchdown in Week 17 against the Arizona Cardinals on the exact play when he returned an interception 99 yards from a Kyler Murray pass.
