Thomas was a four-star recruit coming out of the Gilman school. Booker then was a three-year starter for Stanford, playing in 43 games. In his final season, Thomas had 1.5 tackles and 59 tackles for a career total of 159 tackles and 10 sacks, along with one interception, one forced fumble, 20.5 tackles for loss and two fumble recoveries. In each of his last 3 seasons, Thomas was named to All-Pac-12 teams and was a finalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy.
Thomas was considered a high-level developmental prospect heading into the 2022 NFL Draft, expecting to play as a rotational linebacker. The Houston Texans selected him in the fifth round (150th overall). He was waived by the Texans on August 29, 2023. Thomas was signed to the Philadelphia Eagles' practice squad on August 31, 2023. On January 18, 2024, Thomas was signed to a reserve/future contract.
