Celebrities who decided to get rid of their tattoos (some of them are really embarrassed)
Tattoos do not go out of fashion, and this is increasingly demonstrated by celebrities, who often share the results of impressive ink jobs done on their skin, on their social media. However, the happiness ends when they have to cover up or take away something they had in a relationship or just because they got bored with the design. In other cases, some celebrities even said that the tattoo they removed was “bad luck” on them. These events happen more frequently than we realize, and some celebrities must have been through this situation more than once.
Bright Side did some research on celebrities who covered or removed some of their tattoos and this is what we found!
1. Eva Longoria
This actress had several tattoos in honor of her former husband, basketball player Tony Parker. The first was on his neck, and it was written “Nine,” like the number on the jersey the player wore when playing for the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA. Another highly visible tattoo she had was the one with their wedding date, “July 7, 2007” written in Roman numerals (VII-VII-MMVII). Previously it was on her right wrist, but later, when they got divorced, Eva immediately went to remove the artwork that once symbolized her love for the French basketball player.
2. Rumer Willis
The daughter of actors Demi Moore and Bruce Willis decided to get rid of the lion on her left arm because, in her own words, it “negatively affected her ability to land acting gigs.” Even for celebrities, work comes first, although she added, “It didn’t look like me anymore, so I just thought about changing it.”
3. Heidi Klum
While married to musician Seal, Heidi Klum proudly wore a tattoo on her right forearm with her husband’s name and stars symbolizing their children’s initials. As soon as she was done with the singer, she went straight to have part of the tattoo laser removed. Guess which part was deleted …
4. Kaley Cuoco
The actress who rose to fame after playing Penny in The Big Bang Theory had her wedding date immortalized with Ryan Sweeting on the back. However, after announcing their divorce, she decided to cover the Roman numerals with an insect resembling a moth.
5. Kelly Osbourne
In 2010, the host of Fashion Police, a show on E! The entertainment channel first spoke about its decision to have some of its 15 tattoos removed. Of course, that made the headlines of most tabloids. She even shared the painful process, on her Instagram account, of removing them with a laser treatment she had to undergo. After announcing his decision, some media put together lists to categorize the tattoos Osbourne had inked on his body. Among them, a piano and the word “Daddy” in honor of his famous father, Ozzy Osbourne, singer of the rock band Black Sabbath. She also had a red heart, an anchor, the name “Jack” in honor of her brother, the word “Lovely”, a star, red skulls and wings with a phrase dedicated to her mother.
6. Megan Fox
The actress decided to completely remove a tattoo in honor of Marilyn Monroe. The reason for his decision? According to some media, Megan got rid of the image of this movie legend because she attracted negative energy into her life.
7. Denise Richards
The actress was married to actor Charlie Sheen and the two had the other’s name tattooed on their ankles and wrists, respectively. However, after 4 years their marriage ended, so they decided to make a clean sweep. Denise, for example, decided to cover up the name of the famous protagonist of Two and a Half Men with a Fairy, while he covered up her name by making some sort of bracelet.
8. Marc Antoine
The Puerto Rican singer was married for several years to singer and actress Jennifer Lopez, but after deciding to break up he continued to cover up his name, which he had tattooed on his right wrist.
9. Melanie Griffith
To celebrate her then-husband, Spanish actor Antonio Banderas, Melanie Griffith decided to tattoo a heart on her right arm with her name on it. However, in 2014, once their divorce proceedings began, the actress decided to completely erase the symbol of the love she had had for him.
10. Colin Farrell
The actor has had several tattoos that have been removed over time. One of the reasons he completely removed some of his ink was, according to him and in his own words, because he was fed up with getting painted in the makeup chair every time he had to wear a T-shirt. He also added that some of the images he had imprinted on his skin no longer pleased him and even embarrassed him.
11. Pamela Anderson
The famous Baywatch star had a barbed wire tattoo on one of his arms. However, in 2014, the actress decided to take it off completely. The significance of this coin is still relatively unknown. Some assume it means being locked up and others think it symbolizes a life full of sacrifice.

This actor was engaged to Paris Hilton. They both swore undying love to each other and he decided to honor their promise with a tattoo on his arm. Sadly, their relationship ended. It took Zylka 9 months to cover her ex’s name with the image of a gorilla.
13. Kat Von D
The famous tattoo artist has had a tattoo removed in honor of her ex-fiance, Jesse James. The tattoo was a picture of him when he was a child. When they announced their separation, Von D began laser sessions to erase all traces of the past.
