Walker Kessler’s Parents

Walker Kessler’s parents, Chad and Andrea Kessler, were instrumental in the development of his basketball career. Chad Kessler is a board-certified surgeon at Georgia Bone and Joint, although not much is known about Andrea as she maintains a private life away from the spotlight.

Kessler’s family is full of athletes, which contributed to his decision to pursue a career in sports. He currently plays for NBA team Utah Jazz, having been the twenty-second overall pick in the first round of the 2022 NBL Draft.

Walker began his basketball journey at Woodward Academy in College Park, Georgia where he earned several accolades including The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Player of the Year, Georgia Gatorade Player of the Year, and Mr. Georgia Basketball. Additionally, he participated in the Amateur Athletic Union circuit for Game Elite.

Parents Chad and Andrea raised Walker in Georgia, Chad having played college basketball himself. Born April 23, 1965 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Chad is a 57-year-old former college basketball player.

The Los Angeles Clippers selected Chad in the first round of the 1987 NBA draft. He played as a rookie for the University of Georgia from 1984 to 1987, according to Basketball Reference.

Chad received special recognition and the University of Georgia President’s Award from the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame. Originally enrolled in college to earn a medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia, he put off enrolling in medical school for a year to pursue his dream of playing basketball. Chad is currently a board-certified surgeon with the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, National Board of Medical Examiners, and National Board of Orthopedics.

Andrea, on the other hand, prefers to stay out of public view. She has been a strong supporter of her son behind the scenes and is one of the driving forces behind his basketball success.
