Phillip Palmer is an American news anchor currently working as the midday weekday anchor for ABC7 Eyewitness News. Palmer reports further solutions to community problems for Eyewitness News. Previously, he had worked as a general assignment reporter and weekend anchor at the station since 1998.
Regarding his education, Palmer attended high school West Monroe, Louisiana, where he graduated in 1981. He then joined Northeast Louisiana University for a degree in journalism and a minor in radio/television/film.
Phil began his career in West Monroe in 1985 as a sports reporter for KNOE AM/FM radio. He then moved to KAKE in Wichita, Kansas in 1990 to work as a weekend sports anchor. In 1994, he moved on to KCNC in Denver, Colorado, serving as morning news anchor.
Additionally, he joined his current station in 1998, starting as morning show host, weekend anchor and general affairs reporter.
In March 2007, Phillip donated a kidney to his ailing friend, Dale Davis.
