Lorna Luft is an American actress, writer, and singer who rose to fame as the daughter of successful 1930s American actress Judy Garland. She is also recognized for starring in films and television shows such as I Could Go n Singing (1963), Love, American Style (1973), McCloud (1973) and Grease 2 (1982), Murder, She Wrote (1985) and Trapper John. MD Luft gained even more fame as Liza Minnelli’s half-sister and John Luft’s only sister.
Luft was born and raised in the suburbs of Santa Monica, California. He was born at Saint John’s Health Center in Santa Monica. Luft grew up to be a very passionate young lady who enjoyed watching her mother play various roles on set. Luft attended and graduated from University High School in Los Angeles, where she majored in theater arts. She was also a member of the school choir during her senior year.
Luft made her debut as a performer and singer at the age of 11 singing The Santa Clause is Coming to Town on a 1963 episode of The Judy Garland Show. She also appeared on the show with her other siblings Liza Minnelli and JohnLuft. Great Day then appeared! Rare recordings from The Judy Garland Show in 2006. She then made her Broadway debut at the Shubert Theater in 1971 and starred in the popular 19659 musical Promises, Promises. In 1981, he starred in a 1983 off-Broadway production called Snoopy! Judy Garland’s mother on the other hand was an American actress and singer who rose to fame as Dorothy Gale in The Wizard of Oz (1939). She achieved international stardom in the 1930s also appearing in various musical and dramatic roles in other Broadway productions such as Judy at Carnegie Hall, Meet Me in St. Louis (1944), Judy (1956), Judy in Love (1958) and The Letter (1959). Judy died on 22 Jun 1969 in London, England, UK aged 47. Luft grew up next to his brother named John Luft. Her other half-siblings are Liza Minnelli and more.
