Emily Blunt on why she avoids on-screen n-dity

“I don’t think it’s necessary most of the time,” says The Devil Wears Prada actor

Emily Blunt said she now avoids n-de scenes in films, arguing that on-screen female n-dity is often unnecessary.

The 33-year-old, who is best known for her role in The Devil Wears Prada, wondered if n-dity works in the interest of plot formation or just “seeing someone’s boobs.” ‘one for fun’.

Blunt has starred in a number of roles in the past where she had to appear nude topless, including her iconic early career film My Summer of Love in 2004 and Henry VIII in 2003.

But in the 2015 film Sicario, Blunt chose to veto the n-de scene that was originally included in the film.

The London-born actress also said being a mother had an impact on this decision – Blunt is currently pregnant with her second child.

“Too racy would be something I wouldn’t go for at the moment,” she told the Telegraph.

“I don’t really want to do n-dity, because I’m not 22 anymore. And actually it’s not so much a moral thing as ‘I’ve done it before and do I really want to do it again?

“Is it for the movie or is it free and seeing someone’s boobs for fun?” Because I don’t think it’s necessary most of the time,” the actress adds.

Blunt lives in Los Angeles with her husband and fellow actor, John Krasinski, who plays Jim Halpert in The Office, and their one-year-old daughter.
