Biography
Early results indicate that Zayeda received an impressive 16,203 votes in 30 out of 480 centers, positioning her as a favorite. His closest competitor, Azmat Ullah Khan of the Awami League, garnered 14,117 votes, showing a close contest between the candidates. Sarker Shahnoor Islam Rony, a BNP supporter who defied the party’s decision to avoid elections under the current government, managed to win 1,301 votes.
Throughout the day, the election was faced with certain challenges, such as reports of agents being expelled from the centers, the presence of unauthorized individuals in the voting rooms, technical problems with the CCTV cameras and slow operation of electronic voting machines in some places.
