Biography of Yuki Tsunoda
Yusi Tsunoda is a famous Japanese professional racing driver who currently competes in Formula 1 for Scuderia AlphaTauri. Additionally, he finished third in the 2020 Formula 2 Championship and made his Formula 1 debut in 2021 for AlphaTauri. Tsunoda is also a member of the Honda Formula Dream Project as well as the Red Bull Junior Team. Additionally, he was born and raised in Sagamihara, Kanagawa, Japan.
Talking about his academic qualifications, Yusi completed his high school education at a private school in his hometown and then enrolled at LCA International Preschool. He graduated from the school in 2013 and later attended Nihon University Third High School before later transferring to Wako High School. In 2019, Yusi joined Nippon Sport Science University School of Sports Management. He started his professional karting career in 2010, participating in the JAF Junior Karting Championship. Later, he moved and joined the regional and national ranks.
In addition, Tsunoda also completed schooling at the Suzuka Circuit Racing School at Honda where he progressed to formula lessons. He also joined the Honda Formula Dream Project where he made his car debut in the Japanese F4 Championship. In addition, Yusi won 10 races and finished on the podium 18 times, with 12 pole positions and five fastest laps. He continued to race for the Honda Formula Dream Project team and won seven awards with 14 points, ahead of Teppei Natori in second place.
After his success, he managed to get a place in the Red Bull Junior Team and the Honda Formula Dream Project to drive in the new FIA F3 series in 2019. In the same year, he also joined a famous Carlin team in the F2 series for the 2020 season .There he was once again able to fulfill his extraordinary promise. It even took victories in Belgium, Bahrain and the 70th anniversary UK Grand Prix alongside regular podium finishes.
Before that, he replaced Daniil Kvyat and teamed up with Pierre Gasly at AlphaTauri for the 2021 season. At the season-opening Bahrain Grand Prix, Tsunoda qualified 13th and was second fastest in Q1. Later, he appeared at the Spanish Grand Prix where he finished 16th. After that, he headed to Q3 for the first time at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
He currently races for AlphaTauri for the 2023 season, where he partners with Nyck de Vries as Gasly left for Alpine. This year, Yusi managed to finish 11th at the Bahrain Grand Prix, losing tenth place to Alex Albon by one second. In addition, he was able to compete in various races such as the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, the Australian Grand Prix and the Azerbaijan Grand Prix among others.
