xQc Biography
Félix Lengyel better known as xQc or by his previous screen name xQcOW is a Canadian Twitch streamer, internet personality and former professional Overwatch player. Félix is known for playing as a tank for Team Canada in the Overwatch World Cup and has also played other games such as League of Legends and StarCraft.
xQc was born and raised in Laval, Quebec, Canada. He started his own YouTube channel in March 2015. Felix started uploading videos consisting of live stream highlights, compilations, and personal live Q&As. He was only 19 years old then. It later changed its name to “QC”, meaning “Quebec”. After the release of Blizzard Entertainment’s video game Overwatch (OW) in 2016, Lengyel switched to playing mostly Blizzard and changed his nickname back to xQcOW. That same year, Felix joined an Overwatch E-Sports team and played as a tank for teams like DatZit Gaming. Additionally, DatZit Gaming won the Dreamhack Montreal 2016 Overwatch tournament.
The following year, the Overwatch League’s Dallas Fuel announced that Félix would join their roster. Lengyel also played for Team Canada in their campaign at the Overwatch World Cup 2017. He and the team reached the finals of the event, before losing to defending champions South Korea. Despite losing in the finals, Lengyel was named the tournament’s most valuable player. Apart from that, he has caused many controversies and was finally released by the Dallas Fuel in March 2018.
Additionally, Felix has worked with several Overwatch teams and participated in the 2018 and 2019 Overwatch World Cups as a member of Team Canada. The following year, xQc began playing chess on stream and participated in the first edition of PogChamps, a chess tournament created by Twitch and Chess.com. At the end of 2019, his channel had more than 35,000 subscribers, making him one of the most viewed streamers on Twitch that year.
He is currently signed to Luminosity and Sentinels Gaming. Although he has been temporarily banned from the platform several times, he was the most popular streamer on Twitch in both 2020 and 2021. In addition, Lengyel broke the Twitch viewership record during the event, reaching over 293,000 viewers. Later that month, he broke another record while streaming a beta version of Overwatch 2, which peaked at over 312,000 viewers.
