Steffen Rüdiger Seibert is a German journalist and former TV presenter who serves as the German Ambassador to Israel. He previously served as head of the Press and Information Office of the Federal Government of Germany and as a spokesman for the German government from 2010 to 2021. During his tenure, Steffen officially ranked as Foreign Minister.
Since late 2016, Steffen has been a member of the German government’s cabinet committee on Brexit, in which ministers discuss organizational and structural issues related to the United Kingdom’s withdrawal from the European Union. Previously, Seibert servesd for the German television station ZDF as a journalist and presenter of the popular heute-journal (until 2010).

Steffen served for ZDF from 1989 to 2010. In addition to his roles at ZDF, he co-presented the Bavarian TV Awards in 2005 (with Nina Ruge) and 2009 (with Markus Kavka).
He also coordinated the Nobel Laureates event series in Mönchengladbach with guests FW de Klerk (2004), Mikhail Gorbachev (2007) and the 14th Dalai Lama (2008).
