Christine Westermann is a German TV and radio presenter, journalist and author. Westermann grew up in Mannheim. After finishing her Abitur, she did an internship at Mannheimer Morgen [de] and attended the Deutsche Journalistenschule (German School of Journalism) in Munich.
Starting in 1972, Christine served as a freelance journalist for several radio and television stations, produced films and reports, and moderated the drehscheibe at ZDF. In 1983 he switched to WDR and moderated Aktuelle Stunde until 2002, from 1987 onwards together with Frank Plasberg.

Career Christine Westermann

Since 1996, Westermann has moderated the show Zimmer frei! together with Götz Alsmann, where a rotating celebrity “roommate” will be challenged with unusual tasks and games. Christine and Alsmann called the format a “kid’s celebrity birthday party.” For their work with Zimmer frei! the duo has been awarded the Adolf-Grimme-Preis in 2000.
