While teaching at a High School in Wolfsburg from 1983 to 1987, Nina began working as a freelancer for NDR radio. In 1987 she moved to Berlin to work as a script girl, assistant director of several TV and film productions and editorial assistant at the family program SFB.
In 1988, he was one of the editors involved in the creation of RIAS-TV where he presented the evening news program Abendschau and later the morning television show Frühstückfernsehen.
Several times during her career she took the risk of leaving established shows for new productions where she had more influence, such as her move from the established Heute Journal to the news show Heute Nacht.
