During an interview, Simu Liu reveals the secrets of her great dance which she performs in the trailer of ‘Barbie’
A few days ago, the first preview of the film adaptation of Barbie was released, raising expectations for Greta Gerwig’s next film. The film, which was co-written with Noah Baumbach, has a top-notch cast with Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling in the lead roles, as well as Will Ferrell as Mattel CEO.
Other names that also resonate there are Issa Rae, Ncuti Gatwa, and Simu Liu, who appears in the film’s trailer as a central dancer in a choreography, very similar to the guy from Grease. Ek thinks his dancing skills might be the key that got him into the production.
And it’s also that the actor remembers some of our big, intricate dance sequences “very clearly.” Apparently, it was her talent as a dancer that she introduced to Gerwig when he met her.
In one of my first conversations with Greta, I said, “Well, I don’t mean to brag, but she was on my college hip-hop team. And she literally screamed,” she said.
And she added:
So I feel like that ended up playing a really big part in getting that role,” the actor explained in a chat with Vanity Fair. “But it was fun to be able to rekindle that. part of me, because I have the impression that after I started working as an accountant and then later as an actor, in a way I forgot that I like to dance.” Before also saying “This movie was definitely a chance to reconnect with that part of me, so I was very happy.”
