Prince Harry Ordered to Disclose Destruction of Memoir Drafts and Messages

Prince Harry has been tasked with disclosing details of why and how drafts of his memoir, *Spare*, and messages exchanged with his ghostwriter were destroyed. This development is part of ongoing legal proceedings against the publisher NGN.

Buckingham Palace recently broke its silence on social media following the latest setback in Prince Harry’s legal battle. The palace shared a video message from Queen Camilla, marking Armed Forces Day 2024.

In her message, the Queen said: “In war and peace, whether seen or unseen, our armed forces support and strengthen our nation. You are a source of inspiration, comfort and pride – and I salute you all.

The Queen’s recorded message aimed to express her gratitude to all current and former members of the armed forces and their families on this important day.

It is the first social media post from the royal family since Prince Harry was asked to conduct a wider search for emails, text messages and other documents potentially relevant to his lawsuit against NGN. Concerns have been raised that evidence in the case could be destroyed.

Prince Harry, along with more than 40 others, is suing NGN over allegations of illegal activities by journalists and private investigators. The Duke of Sussex is now facing scrutiny over the circumstances surrounding the destruction of drafts of his memoir and his communications with his ghostwriter, actions that allegedly took place “well after” he filed a lawsuit against NGN in 2019.
