Career of Nicholas Morrow

Nichols signed with the Oakland Raiders to a three-year, $1.67 million contract that included a $7,500 signing bonus on May 4, 2017. Nichols became the first Greenville player to sign an NFL contract. Nicholas entered training camp as a linebacker and performed well enough to compete for a job against Tyrell Adams and Marquel Lee as the starting linebacker. Nicholas was named the starting backup weakside linebacker, behind Corey James, to start the regular season by coach Jack Del Rio.

During the Raiders first season at the Tennessee Titans, Nicholas made his professional regular season debut and made a solo tackle as they won 26–16. After Marquel Lee suffered an ankle injury the previous week, Nicholas earned his first career start at middle linebacker against the San Diego Chargers on October 15, 2017.

Morrow earned his third start of the season on December 3, 2017, and during a 24–17 win against the New York Giants, he collected nine combined tackles (three solo). Nicholas finished his recruiting campaign with a total of 60 combined tackles (40 solo) and four pass deflections in 16 games and five starts. The Oakland Raiders officially revealed their decision on December 31, 2017, to hire head coach Jack Del Rio after finishing the 2017 NFL season with a 6–10 record.

After Corey James left, Morrow struggled throughout training camp to be the starting weak-side linebacker opposite Marquel Lee and Emmanuel Lamour. Nicholas was named the backup linebacker behind Tahir Whitehead to start the regular season by coach Jon Gruden.

Morrow earned his first start of the season on November 25, 2018 and made four solo tackles, and during the Raiders' 34–17 loss to the Baltimore Ravens he had his first career sack. Nicholas sacked Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson for a four-yard loss in the first quarter. In Week 13 during a 40–33 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, Morrow collected a season-high seven solo tackles. Nicholas finished the 2018 NFL season with one sack, three pass deflections, 43 combined tackles (30 solo) and one forced fumble in 16 games and five starts.

After the Raiders signed free agents Brandon Marshall and Vontaze Burfict, Nicholas joined training camp as a backup outside linebacker. Nicholas competed with Jason Cabinda and Marquel Lee to be the primary backup. Nicholas was named to Morrow as the backup weakside linebacker to open the season behind Markwell Lee by head coach Jon Gruden.

The Las Vegas Raiders revealed their decision on March 18, 2020, to tender a second-round pick to Morrow. The Raiders signed Nicholas to a one-year, $3.259 million contract on April 13, 2020. Nicholas recorded his first interception of the season on a Drew Brees pass during the 34–24 win and led the team with 7 tackle in Week 2 against the New Orleans Saints. Nicholas recorded his first sack of the season on Drew Lock in a 37–12 Week 10 win against the Denver Broncos.

On December 24, 2020, Morrow was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list by the Raiders and on December 29, he was activated. Nicholas recorded 11 tackles in Week 17 against the Denver Broncos and during the 32–31 victory he sacked Drew Lock once. Nicholas re-signed with the Raiders on a one-year contract on March 19, 2021.
