Laura Coates is an American journalist, lawyer and legal analyst at CNN, who has hosted a talk show on The Laura Coates Show on SiriusXM Urban View since 2017. In January 2021, the show was transferred to SiriusXM’s POTUS.
Coates earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Princeton School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University. In 2005, Coates received her JD from the University of Minnesota Law School in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
After graduating, she began her legal career in Minnesota, working as an associate lawyer at Faegre & Benson. However, he left Faegre to become a partner in the New York law firm of Kasowitz, Benson, Torres & Friedman. He later moved from a private practice to the United States Department of Justice as a federal prosecutor.
