Actress reveals she must have had a bit of Dutch guts ahead of steamy scenes
Dakota Johnson has revealed that she had to “drink a glass of whiskey” before doing these very intimate sex scenes with Fifty Shades Darker co-star Jamie Dornan.
While discussing the sequel to Fifty Shades of Grey, the pretty brunette confessed that she and Jamie had a “pre-game ritual” before getting busy.
The 27-year-old actress, who plays Anastasia Steele, told Entertainment Tonight she will take a “shot of whiskey (and) mints” before the cameras start rolling, while Jamie “does push-ups”.
Dakota also said filming the X-rated scenes wasn’t exactly easy, but said she was much more comfortable because she and Jamie had “become so close.”
Jamie, who plays BDSM-obsessed Christian Grey, agreed, explaining that he and Dakota b-rely knew each other during the first film:[Now] it’s been three years, [and] Dakota and I are very close.
“We have a great kind of love and respect for each other.
“We’re great friends and I think that makes it easier, you know? So it’s definitely more comfortable.”
The film’s stars were banned from any kinky conversation and forced to push the film’s romantic elements instead.
Oscar winner Marcia Gay Harden, who plays Jamie’s character Christian Grey’s mother, let the stifling stipulations slip after she found herself in trouble for jokingly tweeting about sex toys.
In a new, unfiltered interview, Marcia said, “We can’t talk too much about nipple clamps.
“I used to send naughty little tweets, like this ‘sweater clasp’ and Universal told me I couldn’t do it anymore, but I’ll tell you one anyway.
“I’m a nice girl, I fell in line. Because it’s supposed to be more about “romance”.
“I may have gone too far . . . I don’t know.
“I sent a picture of a sex toy and I was like, ‘Dear Christian, thank you so much for this lovely bracelet under the Christmas tree. Maybe it wasn’t meant for me. Well, yes pretty one.
“And all the fans would say, ‘No, it wasn’t for you Mama Grey, oh no. It was great fun, but it was closed.
“It’s a love story after all – I don’t think they want us to be too overtly sexual in interviews.”
An X-rated graphic moment involving a sex toy is nearly three minutes long and had audience members laughing and screaming in horror at the Los Angeles premiere last week.
Another explicit scene sees Dakota’s character, Anastasia Steele, tied to a stainless steel bondage bar with toe clips for a love session in Christian Grey’s infamous Red Room of Pain.
The film’s UK premiere takes place in London on Thursday before hitting screens here the following day.
