Myers became interested in weather after several tornadoes and snowstorms hit his hometown of Kansas City. The 2013 Moore EF5 Tornado disaster left a very wild impression on him. In 2015, he moved to Texas where he chased tornadoes and covered severe weather and flooding.
Before graduating, Collin had his first job and returned to northeast Kansas. This was after the report by a TV show that had tracked him down.
