Chad has been working for FOX News Channel (FNC) in Washington, DC as a congressional correspondent since September 2007. On January 6, 2021, he covered live from inside the Capitol building as it was being hit by rioters. He was holed up in the basement and provided critical minute-by-minute updates on the situation for fifteen straight hours on the air until the building was made safe.
Previously, he served for the Capitol News Connection as a reporter. In addition, he hosted and produced newscasts for NPR in Washington and worked for C-SPAN as a Senate producer. He began his career at WKRC-AM in Cincinnati and WKRC-TV, the ABC affiliate at the time, as a reporter before joining Cincinnati Public Radio’s WMUB-FM in Oxford, OH. During his tenure at WKRC-AM, he covered the first congressional race of then-little-known John Boehner, who would go on to serve as Speaker of the House. Chad was named Best Radio Reporter by the Ohio Associated Press in 1992.
