Wendy Ryan is an American Emmy Award-winning journalist who has worked for ABC Action News since joining the station in April 2003. She anchors the 5 p.m., 6 p.m. newscasts. and 11 p.m. In addition, her Emmy-nominated franchise known as “Dirty Dining” has been featured on Good Morning America, 20/20, Jimmy Kimmel Live and Last Week Tonight with John Oliver on HBO. The 'Dirty Dining' franchise is warning the public about restaurants with repeated state violations that have gone uncorrected.
He is a member of the ABC Action News I-Team, doing countless food safety inspection investigations through the Florida Department of Hotels and Restaurants, the Department of Agriculture and the CBC. For the past 12 years, she has co-hosted the Emmy Award-winning Taking Action Against Domestic Violence campaign and the Primetime Special. The hour-long special is filled with survivor stories and features resources to help those still struggling to escape a domestic violence situation.
It has coverage on major hurricanes such as Charlie, Francis, Ivan, Jean and most recently Hurricane Irma. In addition, she is also involved with CASA: Community Action Stops Abuse, The Haven of Tampa Bay, Lowry Park Zoo, Salvation Army Angel Tree Program and The Spring of Tampa Bay.
