Samantha Simmonds is a British television presenter, newsreader and journalist who worked as a news anchor for Sky News until July 2016. In 1995 she received an MA in Journalism from City University London
After graduating she went to work as a local radio reporter in Yorkshire. Later, the journalist moved to London and worked as a producer at Channel Five News. She then moved to BBC Breakfast, where she spent two years as a reporter and presenter for BBC London’s news programmes. In 2005, he left the BBC to join Sky News.
While working for Sky News, she became the first British journalist to break the story of Michael Jackson’s death. Samantha, along with several other anchors, was let go from the network as part of a cost-cutting exercise. The journalist has been a BBC World News presenter since 2017.
