Warren began his career as a broadcaster in college radio at Creighton University in Omaha, NE, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English literature. However, his broadcasting career had to wait several years after college, while he lived in Europe for a year and worked in financial sales in San Francisco.
Warren returned to his career as a reporter at KRNV in Reno, NV, and then KMST in Monterey, CA. His first anchor job was morning anchor at KTUL in Tulsa, Oklahoma and then moved to Phoenix, Arizona to work as a reporter and anchor at KTVK.
