Lance Reddick Biography
Lance Reddick is an American actor and musician who is famous for playing Cerdic Daniels in The Wire, Phillip Broyles in Fringe and Chief Irving in Coach (2014-2020). Most notable films that brought him national recognition were John Wich (2014-present) starring as Charon, David Gentry in Angel Has Fallen and Guillermin in Godzilla vs. Kong.
Talking about his education, he attended Friends School of Baltimore. As a teenager, Reddick studied music at Peabody Preparatory Institute and a summer program teaching music theory and composition at the Walden School. Lance also studied classical music composition at the University of Rochester’s Eastman School of Music and later earned a Bachelor of Music.
In the 1980s, he moved to Boston, Massachusetts. He then attended the Yale School of Drama receiving his Master of Fine Arts degree in 1994. After his studies, he continued with roles in films and television. He was cast as Cedric Daniels on The Wire and joined ABC’s hit series Lost in 2008 playing Matthew Abaddon.
Speaking about his music career, he released his debut album Contemplations & Remembrances in 2007. In early 2008, he was cast in a lead role in the Fringe pilot. In 2016, he was cast in The Domestics which released on June 28, 2018. Later in 2018, he starred in Monster Party. Most recently, in 2022, he played Albert Wesker in Resident Evil, which was canceled after one season.
