Jennifer Lawrence Reveals ‘Real Nightmare’ Filming Surprising Movie Scene For New Red Sparrow Movie
Jennifer Lawrence may be one of the most confident movie stars around, but she still has her insecure moments of having to get naked for her new movie Red Sparrow.
The star admitted that she had spent a sleepless night worrying about a particular scene in the film that she should be the most striking.
“It was really scary telling es to the movie because I knew the only way to tell the story was if I was willing to really do the scenes and go all the way into Monty,” she said. Monday on Today in Australia.
“It took a while to say, ‘Yes’. And the night before, I didn’t sleep at all and I was obviously very nervous because it’s the real nightmare to stand naked in front of a classroom.
“But after I finished the scene, I felt empowered.”
The 27-year-old star in the new film plays Dominika Erogova, a Russian ballerina who is recruited into “School of Sparrows”, a Russian intelligence program in which she trained in the art of seduction and sexual manipulation.
Erogova is sent on a mission to extract secrets from an American CIA agent (Joel Edgerton) but her growing feelings for him soon threaten the entire operation.
The film features scenes of torture, in which the actress has ice water poured over her body – and Jen admits that she’s never been so afraid of making a movie in her life.
She said: ‘I was terrified. I don’t think I’ve ever been so afraid of making a film in my life. It was a lot of firsts for me.
“I was running water on myself. I kept asking for it to be heated. They said, “No, because then it’s going to smoke.”
“’Cool, so I’m really naked and I get ice water poured over me,” she joked.
Part of Jen’s worry undoubtedly stems from the 2014 hack scandal, which saw the actress become the most targeted star in an iCloud hack, with many intimate photos of the star – and others including Jennifer, Kirsten Dunst, Kate Upton and Amber Heard – Leaked online.
The star recently slammed those who criticized her for failing to pair a bodycon Versace dress with a coat during a photocall in London with her castmates Red Sparrow last week.
Many believed the photo of her in the strappy dress while the men wore coats was “sexist,” but Jen called their claims of sexism sexist in and of itself.
On her official Facebook page, Jennifer wrote: “Wow. I’m not sure where to start in this controversy“ Jennifer Lawrence wearing revealing dress in the cold. ”It’s not only completely ridiculous, I am extremely offended.
“That Versace dress was fabulous, do you think I’ll cover this gorgeous dress with a coat and scarf?” I was outside for 5 minutes. I would have been standing in the snow for this dress because I love fashion and it was my choice.
