Jennifer Aniston Responds to ‘Friends’ Critics

Jennifer Aniston has shared her thoughts on the recent criticism the popular American sitcom “Friends” has faced from young viewers.

The 54-year-old actress, who is widely known for her portrayal of Rachel Green on the show, acknowledged that comedy and culture have evolved over the years, making it important to be careful about what is deemed acceptable in today’s society.

Speaking to AFP, Aniston expressed her desire for people to be able to poke fun at themselves a little more freely, acknowledging that it can be difficult for comedians to navigate the current climate. She recalled how in the past it was possible to make jokes about certain topics and educate people on important issues, but now there is more sensitivity around those issues.

Aniston went on to explain that while some of the jokes made on “Friends” were unintentionally offensive, others should have been looked at more carefully. She expressed her belief that the world needs humor, especially in the United States, where the country is increasingly divided.

Aniston stressed the importance of comedy and the need to not take yourself too seriously. She acknowledged that times have changed and that we need to be mindful of what we say and how we say it, but ultimately humor is a valuable tool in bringing people together.
