Jason Mikell Biography
Jason Mikell is an African-American meteorologist currently working as a full-time meteorologist at WKYC Studios in Cleveland, Ohio starting September 2021. Previously, he was a weather forecaster at KVUE TV ABC in Austin, Texas from January 2018 to September 2021 .
Additionally, Jason attended Pearl River Community College graduating with an Associate’s Degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences. He was a member of the Marching Band majoring in drums. Mikell then attended the University of Southern Mississippi where he graduated with a BA in Education and Psychology. In college, he was vice president of Psi Chi and a member of Phi Theta Kappa. Mikell then attended Mississippi State University graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Atmospheric Science and Operational Meteorology. She was a member of Gamma Theta Upsilon at the institute.
In 2009, Jason served as a human resources intern at Pine Belt Mental Healthcare Resources in Hattiesburg, Mississippi for 3 months.
