The biography of Indra Peterson
Indra Valija Petersons is an American meteorologist currently working at NBC News. Previously, she worked as a weather anchor for CNN’s morning program “New Day.” Prior to joining CNN, Valija also served as a meteorologist for KABC-TV in Los Angeles. Moreover, he was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, United States.
Talking about her educational qualifications, Perersons completed her studies at La Cañada High School in La Cañada Flintridge, California. He then attended the University of Arizona, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Atmospheric Physics. After college, he was first hired as a meteorologist for KVIA in El Paso, Texas. Indra then moved and joined KEYT in Santa Barbara, California where she worked for a few months before later joining KABC in Los Angeles, California. There she was responsible for weather production, general dispatch and also reported on the environment.
Later, he resigned from KACB and joined the CNN team, where he did weather segments for CNN Newsroom. In 2011, Petersons was voted by the public as the city’s best meteorologist on the Los Angeles Hotlist. In addition, he holds a Certified Meteorologist certificate from the American Meteorological Society. He currently works at NBC News as a meteorologist.
Indra also serves on the board of Kids First Fund, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the needs of women and children who are sexually and physically abused, abandoned or neglected. Currently, its efforts are focused on countries where resources are limited with an emphasis on rural areas where poverty is a pervasive condition.
