Deadline for Harry and Meghan to respond to Coronation invitation

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are still considering whether or not to attend King Charles’ next coronation.

However, they don’t need to make a hasty decision as there is no RSVP deadline included in the official invitations. This information was provided by Dr George Gross, Visiting Scholar in Theology at King’s College London.

He explained that in previous times, participation in such events was compulsory upon receipt of a summons, but today it is different. As it is not known if all the invitations have been sent, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have plenty of time to decide. Also, as they have been assigned seats in the royal box, there is some flexibility in their attendance.

Dr. Gross further explained that there is always some wiggle room, especially in the event of last-minute cancellations due to unforeseeable circumstances such as health issues. He pointed out that the royal box offers more flexibility and that there is always room available for the King’s relatives.

A spokesperson for the Sussexes confirmed they had received the invitation but had yet to respond. Therefore, they have not made a final decision on whether to attend the coronation ceremony.
