Tom Silva is an American contractor known for his longtime appearances on the PBS shows This Old House and Ask This Old House. He is also co-owner of Silva Brothers’ Construction, based in Lexington, Massachusetts.
He began his career as a contractor at a young age, helping his father and brothers build a shelter under the family’s 1787 colonial home in Lexington, Massachusetts. Brother’s Construction built the first set for The Victory Garden.
Later, he was spotted by This Old House producer Russell Morash while they were working on a house. Russell invited them to become permanent sponsors of the show in 1988. They have been here ever since. In addition, he has contributed to This Old House Magazine and other publications from This Old House Ventures.
