Willie McGinest is a former American football linebacker. For 15 seasons he played in the National Football League. He was drafted fourth overall by the New England Patriots in the 1994 NFL Draft. This was after he played college football where he wore #55 for the USC Trojans. During New England’s success in winning the Super Bowl in 2001, 2003 and 2004, he was one of the cornerstones.

On March 15, 2006, he signed with the Cleveland Browns. As a result of that move, he was reunited with coach Romeo Crennel, who was the Patriots’ defensive coordinator during his time in New England. Willie stated that he would play his final year of professional football before retiring in the offseason in an interview prior to the 2008 season.

He then said he would like to finish his career with the Patriots, in 2009. During his induction into the Patriots Hall of Fame on August 5, 2015, he signed a one-day contract with the Patriots.

He joined the NFL Network after his retirement and served as a football analyst, appearing on various programs including NFL Total Access. Previously, he worked in similar roles at ESPN and also at Fox Sports. He has made some appearances on TV shows such as Arli$$ and The Game.
