In 1982, Todd got his first part-time job at the age of 16 serving at WCPK-AM 1600 located in Chesapeake, Virginia. While in high school, Todd served with different stations in Hampton Roads, Virginia, including WVAB, WNVZ and WNIS. Additionally, during her college days, Schnitt worked with WVBR, Cornell’s student-run station.

In 1989, Todd was hired at Pirate Radio, KQLZ in Los Angeles by Scott Shannon where he worked as an assistant program director, creative director, as well as a member of the morning show. Additionally, in October 1992, he left New York and found himself at Wove in West Palm Beach, Florida to start The MJ Kelli Morning Show.
