Sarah Hyland is an American actress and television personality who rose to fame playing Haley Dunphy on ABC’s Modern Family from 2009 to 2020. She is also widely recognized for her first role in Private Parts (1997), Annie (1999) and Blind Date (2007). Sarah has even received four Screen Actors Guild Awards and a Critic Television Award for Best Actress for her performances on screen. She even went viral in 2022 after being announced as the new host of the final season of Love Island USA on the Peacock. Sarah’s other famous roles are in Greek Charming (2011), Vampire Academy (2014) and The Wedding Year.
Hyland was born and raised in Manhattan, New York. She grew up as the daughter of a very skilled and famous actress known as Melissa Canaday. Hence, Sarah developed a passion for acting at a very young age through her mother’s influence. He finished high school in New York. From there, Sarah attended and graduated from the Professional Performing Arts School in New York.
Sarah made her acting debut playing Howard Stern’s daughter in his film Private Parts (1997). She then played Molly in a 1999 film called Annie. Sarah even played the role of Maddie Healy in an NBC TV show called Lipstick Jungle. He also did commercials for various companies alongside retired actress and model, Molly Culver.
In 2006, Sarah made her Broadway debut playing the role of Jacqueline Bouvier in the off-Broadway play Gray Gardens. In 2009, Hyland landed her breakout role as Halley Dunphy on ABC’s Modern Family. Her work on Modern Family earned her the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance along with the other cast members. Sarah’s most recent TV appearances are on The Jimmy Fallon Show (2023), My Fake Boyfriend (from 2022), Love Island USA and Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin (from 2022).
