Eden further muses: “Maybe they had it prepared in advance, with a ready-made impact report and so on. However, when you consider that William and Catherine released their own video the day before, it almost seems like the Sussexes were thinking, “When should we release this? Let’s wait until the palace releases a video.”
He astutely adds: “This situation accentuates the underlying tension.”
The video release coincides with the Sussexes’ decision to spend Christmas away from the royal family in California, while King Charles and his family travel to Norfolk.
