Patrick Hayes is an American journalist currently working as a reporter and media reporter at ABC15 Arizona. More specifically, he joined the station in July 2021 after reporting in New Mexico and Texas.
Before all this, he spent a few years working in his hometown of Yuma. While there, he worked behind the scenes and on camera. Additionally, he spent a year working for the district attorney’s office in Las Cruces, NM as a public information officer.
As a reporter, he has covered the COVID-19 Spaceport America pandemic and multiple elections. He has also traveled to the US-Mexico border to cover various issues. Some of the stories include drug trafficking, the border wall, the immigration crisis and deported veterans.
In 2019, he covered the Walmart shooting in El Paso. He also covered President Donald Trump’s visit to Sun City. Regarding his education, he attended the Univesity of Arizona in Tucson where he earned a degree in Media Arts. When he is off duty, he enjoys hiking with his girlfriend and their dogs, Dukin’ and Suku.
