Biography of Martin Lewis
Martin Lewis is an English financial journalist and broadcaster who is the founder of MoneySavingExpert.com. However, it sold the site in 2012 to the Moneysupermarket.com group for up to 87 87 million.
Born in Manchester, Lewis attended The King’s School, an independent school in Chester. He went on to study Government and Law at the London School of Economics. In 1997 he became a graduate student in Broadcast Journalism at the Center for Journalism Studies at the University of Cardiff. Lewis also received an honors degree in Business Administration from the University of Chester in 2013.
After graduation he was general secretary of the LSE Association of Studies. He then went to work in the City of London for the Brunswick group. Brunswick is a financial communications consultant. In addition, he became a producer for the BBC Business Unit Employee of the BBC Radio Five Live business program and editor of BBC Radio 4’s Today.
After the collapse of Simply Money, he contributed to the “Deal of the Week” column on the Sunday Express. He also featured “Money Saving Expert” slots on Channel 5’s Daily House Open show with Gloria Hunniford. Lewis returned to the BBC to work as a business and personal finance reporter for the company’s BBC One Breakfast News.
In 2005, he presented a daily TV series on ITV called Make Me Rich, and in 2008 a headline on Five entitled It Pays to Watch !. He has also presented special money issues for ITV’s Tonight and has appeared as a “Money Saving Expert” in many magazines.
He currently appears on ITV’s This Morning and is an occasional guest on other newscasts and magazines. He also started co-presenting The Martin Lewis Money Show. Initially she presented the show with Saira Khan and recently the show with Angelica Bell was presented. She also appears weekly on Emma Barnett on BBC Radio Five Live.
