Lars enlisted in the Royal Danish Army right after graduating from high school in 1982 and served for a few years. However, he felt driven to complete his studies and left the army in 1985 to study biology at the University of Copenhagen. He met his future wife Anette Stvelbk at a party on New Year’s Eve and she encouraged him to try juggling by showing her improvement. after only three days of study, he was able to do it quite proficiently.
