Biography of Krystle Henderson
Krystle Henderson is an Emmy Award-winning meteorologist, reporter and media journalist currently working for 12 News. She joins the Today in AZ team, leading weather coverage, along with Rachel McNeill and Ryan Cody.
In addition, it also provides viewers with Forecast 411 weekdays at 12 @ 12, 12 News’ multi-platform midday show with 12 minutes of non-stop content. Henderson joined the 12 team in September 2013.
Krystle won three 2019 Rocky Mountain Emmy Awards: Outstanding Weather Anchor (Meteorologist); Best Specialty Assignment Report – Everywhere from A to Z and Best Sports – Single News. Henderson was also recognized with Emmys for Talent – Anchor – Weather in 2017 as well as Talent – Anchor – Traffic in 2016.
Krystle joined the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism. Additionally, at ASU, Krystle also majored in Business at the WP Carey School. She was accepted into the National Honor Society of Journalists. He then graduated Summa Cum Laude.

Krystle began her career in Medford, Oregon working at KTVL News 10, the CBS affiliate, for four good years as a weekend news and weather anchor and weekday reporter, covering southern Oregon and northern California. While at KTVL, Henderson received an Associated Press Award for Best Weathercast and another for Best Continuing Coverage. Likewise, he introduced a series called Medford’s Most Wanted.
Henderson’s love of weather came while she was finishing her bachelor’s degree at ASU. She did weather broadcasts for Cronkite Newswatch and was eager to learn more about the science behind it, so she continued her education at Mississippi State University, receiving a Bachelor of Science and Certificate in Broadcast Meteorology.
In addition, Henderson has served on the NATAS Rocky Mountain Emmy Board of Directors since 2018. She was motivated to get involved after hosting the Student Production Awards in 2017. On the board, she serves on the education committee helping to mentor new journalists.
Born in Chandler and raised in Gilbert, it has always been her dream to be part of the 12 News team. In addition, she is a volunteer who helps with various events each year focusing on animals and students.
