Katie Mckee is an American journalist currently working as a traffic reporter on Channel 6’s Good day Columbus. She joined the Good day Columbus bus in June 2017 after spending time working for other news outlets in the southeast.
Mckee attended and graduated from Ohio University with a degree in political science in 2009. After graduation, Mckee joined the Atlanta Broadcast Institute to improve her skills in video editing and broadcast operations.
Her first reporting opportunity was at the FOX Affiliate in Columbia, South Carolina. While there, he told the story of a missing 15-year-old girl named Gabbie Swainson. This story eventually made national headlines.
She stayed in Columbia for 3 years finishing her time in the Palmetto State at NBC Affiliate WIS. There she worked as a morning reporter and anchored the afternoon newscast. In 2015, she moved to Jacksonville Florida for a reporter position at CBS/FOX. During her time in Florida, she spent a week in Orlando where she covered the Pulse Night Club Shooting as well as Hurricane Matthew and the storm’s aftermath. Currently, it’s on weekday mornings from 4:25am. to 8:30 Good Day Columbus.
