Katie Emmer Biography
Katie Emmer is an American journalist currently working as an on-air host and reporter at Bally Sports North. He joined the network in August 2021 after working for FOX Sports North. Prior to joining the FOX network, he worked as a reporter for NBC Sports Philadelphia. Being a sports fan, Emmer is passionate about people and storytelling.
Emmer attended and graduated from St. Cloud State University in August 2018. While in college, she was a competitive 3-sport athlete playing volleyball, softball and basketball since high school. Although she planned to play softball, she changed plans at the last minute, landing her on the women’s basketball team at the University of Hawaii at Hilo. She later returned to her native Minnesota and joined the University of St. Cloud State University.
While there, she fell in love with broadcast journalism during her first year while working for the Men’s and Women’s Hockey teams. She worked as a Rink Side reporter and also as a studio host for the St. Cloud State Hockey. Emmer also joined an award-winning student crew, Husky Productions. They covered live games shown on Fox Sports North in the Greater Minneapolis-ST. Paul area.
In 2021, Katie lost her job at NBC Sports Philadelphia after taking a job in Pennsylvania. She previously worked as a reporter for the Minnesota Wild before moving to Philadelphia in September 2019. Her move to Philadelphia came as a result of losing her job at FSN. Employed as a full-time reporter at an FSN in 2018, she was also named the first woman to win the Jim Nantz Award that same year.
