Before being elected president, Sakellaropoulou was president of the Council of State, Greece’s highest administrative court. She is the country’s first female president.

He was a member of the Association of Judicial Service Officers of the Council of State. During her tenure at the club, Katerina served as general secretary (1985–1986), vice president (2006–2008) and president (1993–1995, 2000–2001).
