Joyce DeWitt is a famous American actress famous for her role in the ABC series, Three’s Company. She became a household name when she played Janet Wood on the ABC sitcom from 1977-1984.
Joyce was born on April 23, 1949 in West Virginia, United States. She had a love for the stage, taking acting classes at her level 0. In addition, she studied Theater in college and later made her first stage appearance when she was 13 years old.
After graduating with a degree in acting from Ball State Universityhe later enrolled for a master’s degree in University of California. He soon began auditioning for acting roles, landing his first in the 1977 film Baretta. This role lasted for seven years and later led her to become a famous celebrity actress.
It has been widely rumored that Joyce was mentored by Abe Vigoda. However, this has always been wrong. Abe and DeWitt just met when Joyce was showing in summer stock a year after she graduated. That was after a UCLA theater director convinced her to go to California for the school’s MFA program.
After Three’s Company ended in 1984, Joyce appeared in an episode of Finder of Lost Loves in 1984 after which she quit. She continued acting with a part in a series, Noises Off at Michigan’s Cherry County Playhouse in June 1991.
He later appeared in the 1995 television comedy Spring Fling! A character dependent on her, voiced by another entertainer, appeared in a 1997 scene of Pinky and the Brain. He participated in a scene of Cybill and appeared in the penultimate scene of Living Single. Her 2000s credits include television shows including Hope Island, The Nick at Nite Holiday Special, and Call of the Wild.
DeWitt later co-produced and facilitated the 2003 NBC television movie Behind the Camera: The Unauthorized Story of Three’s Company. Screen character Melanie Paxson portrayed DeWitt in the film. In late 2008, he also won a part in a standalone film called Failing Better Now.
In 2009, DeWitt appeared in a phase generation of Married Alive in Calgary, Canada.
Beginning in 2011, DeWitt appeared in the play Miss Abigail’s Guide to Dating, Mating and Marriage in New York. In 2011, he additionally appeared in a Canadian stage production of Dinner with Friends at the Aquarius Theater in Hamilton, Canada.
