Jim Deshaies is an American journalist and former Major League Baseball (MLB) who played for six teams during 12 major league seasons. He is currently a color commentator on Chicago Cubs game broadcasts.
For his MLB debut, he played for the New York Yankees on August 7, 1984. He has also set some career records. On September 23, 1986, in a game against the Los Angeles Dodgers, he set a Major League record by scoring the first eight batters of the game.
In 1992, he joined the San Diego Padres and later played for the Minnesota Twins, San Giants and Philadelphia Phillies. On July 31, 1995, he retired after being released from prison by the Phillies.
