According to a former friend of Meghan Markle, the Duchess could have been the next Princess Diana if she had remained an active member of the royal family after her marriage to Prince Harry.
Lizzie Cundy, an English socialite, expressed her shock when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped down as senior royals in 2020.
Cundy claimed Meghan didn’t want to do the hard work that comes with being a royal because it wasn’t exciting for her.
Cundy added that being royal takes a lot of effort, which was not the Hollywood lifestyle Meghan was used to.
Cundy felt it was sad that Meghan wanted to leave the Royal Family as she could have been the next Princess Diana. Cundy also felt Meghan’s constant talk of family was unfair and felt like she was trying to bring down the monarchy.
Despite her criticisms, Cundy believes the royal couple could makeover their image, but it would be difficult, given their many attacks on the royal family.
She thinks the Duke and Duchess are great at charity work, but their recent actions have tarnished the image of the royal family, and everyone is now turning against them.
