Chasity Maxie is an American journalist currently working as a reporter, producer and anchor at WBRC FOX6 News since joining the station in April 2020. Before joining her current station, she worked as a reporter, anchor and producer at WTVY TV in Dothan.
Born in Chicago, Maxie graduated from Northern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies. She continued her education at Columbia College in Chicago earning a master’s degree in journalism.
After graduating, Maxie landed her first job in Peoria, Illinois at WHOI-TV. There, he produced, anchored, hosted and reported on the station’s webcast. Years later, he joined WWMT-TV in Kalamazoo, Michigan as producer of the 10 p.m. After years of working, Maxie went back to school to earn a master’s degree in teaching from Louis National University.
She spent the next 5 years teaching third grade in the Chicago Public Schools. However, when an opportunity arose at WTVY-TV in Dothan, Maxie jumped at it without hesitation. That’s because even though she was in the classroom physically, her heart never left the newsroom.
Maxie would spend the next year at WTVY’s sister station WRGX as an anchor. Passionate about her work and wanting to improve her skills, Maxie accepted an opportunity at WBRC as a reporter and media journalist.
He officially started working at WBRC in April 2020 and has been here ever since. When she is off duty, she enjoys eating at new restaurants, talking on the phone with family and friends, and reading books.
