Biography of Agnes DeRouen
Agnes DeRouen is an American journalist currently working as anchor and managing editor of 7 News at Noon on KPLC in Los Angeles, California.
DeRouen was born in Avery Island, Louisiana, in the state of New Iberia. She completed her high school studies in Mt. Carmel Academy. Continue to University of Louisiana at Lafayettewhere he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in English and journalism.
Agnes has worked at KATC in Lafayette for more than 20 years as an anchor, reporter, editor and many times as interim news director. She won several Associated Press awards for reporting and documentaries during her time there. She was also awarded the Edward R. Murrow Award for a story. She has also garnered various community honors throughout her tenure at KATC, ranging from Outstanding Young Entrepreneur to the Acadiana Arts Council Media Award.
He has interviewed Mother Teresa, covered papal visits to New Orleans and St. Louis, covered Acadian culture at events across Canada, and interviewed such famous figures as Ella Fitzgerald, Rudolf Nureyev and Crusaders throughout her career.

Agnes is also a member of a number of Lafayette area arts organizations. He served on various boards, including the Lafayette Museum of Natural History and the Planetarium, and was on the founding board of Hospice of Acadiana. DeRouen was also the Secretary of the current ULL Alumni Association.
Agnes began working at KVHP FOX 29 in Lake Charles in June 2002, first as the 5 p.m. anchor, then as the midday show anchor and producer, until she left in June 2006. She then began working with part time in the reference department of the Calcasieu Parish Public Library System. Agnes worked in her high school library as an elective and then worked in her college library to pay for her education. She got a call from KPLC while she was working in the library and ended up on TV.
DeRouen is currently the 7News Noon anchor and anchor. Agnes continues to work in the library for a few hours each week.
