Career Stefan Aust
Aust graduated from high school at the Athenaeum in Stade and gained her first journalistic experience working for the local school newspaper “Wir”, through which she also met journalist Henryk M. Broder. Aust dropped out of business studies after a few weeks.
From 1966 to 1969, Aust served as an editor at Concrete magazine and later at St. Pauli-Nachrichten [de]. In 1969, Aust traveled to the United States for half a year.
From 1970, he worked for Norddeutscher Rundfunk. Since 2014, Stefan has been editor of the conservative newspaper Die Welt. Until December 2016, Aust was also editor of the paper. He was editor-in-chief of the weekly news magazine Der Spiegel from 1994 to February 2008.
