Melissa began working at WTVR CBS 6 News based in Richmond, Virginia as an investigative reporter in October 2013. She is originally from Falls Church, Northern Virginia and is excited to be reporting in the commonwealth’s capital. Previously, Hipolit served Johnson City, Tenn.-based WJHL-TV as a reporter and anchor for a period of five good years.
While working at WJHL, Hipolit won a Tennessee AP Award for a story she covered on the coal country of southwest Virginia during the 2012 US presidential election. After earning her bachelor’s degree in History from Hobart and William Smith Colleges located in Geneva of New York, Melissa returned to northern Virginia.
