Max Kellerman Biography
Max Kellerman is an American sports television commentator and boxing commentator who stood up for his job with ESPN until he announced his official retirement on June 30, 2023. He also co-hosted other shows such as ESPN’s talk show along with First Take with by Stephen A. Smith and Molly Kerim. Max even worked as a co-host of a sports radio show called Max & Marcellus on ESPN La and the ESPN Panel Talk Show known as Around the Horn. Kellerman left ESPN to pursue other bigger opportunities and do other projects.
Kellerman was born and raised in the suburbs of the Bronx, but grew up in the Greenwich Village area. He attended Hunter College High School and graduated in 1991. Growing up, Max enjoyed participating in various school projects and playing different sports from high school to college. He then enrolled at Columbia University where he graduated with a degree in journalism and communications.
Kellerman began his broadcasting career officially when he was a teenager working for a public access cable television program in New York City known as Max on Boxing. The show was not popular, but attracted unique ratings and audiences with special appearances for up-and-coming boxers at the time, such as Mike Tyson. Max was then hired permanently to work as a sports analyst for ESPN’s Friday Night Fights boxing series after graduating from college in 1990. In 2022, Max’s hard work earned him his own sports department, mostly influenced by Pardon the Interruption, who became the primary architect and original host of ESPN’s Around the Horn. However, Max left the show after a contract dispute and began hosting an MSNBC show called Tucker. Eventually, Max returned to the ESPN networks and worked for nearly ten years before finally leaving in 2023. Max is currently pursuing a new job at a popular station.
