Marlon Craft is an American musician currently a rapper, singer and songwriter from Manhattan, New York. He has released several EPs and mixtapes in the past. Marlon rose to fame by releasing his debut album titled Funhouse Mirror in June 2019.
When did he start his music career? Right out of college. He attended The Beacon School, Hell’s Kitchen. He later attended American University in Washington, majoring in Urban Education and Social Justice. He started by posting freestyle videos on his YouTube channel. His early compilations include 2015’s Mixtape, Pieces, which featured rap freestyles over the beat by Mobb Deep’s Shook Ones.
The project later followed with two EPS, So, What Are You Doing? and it was unlike any of his titles in 2016. He also participated in a Cypher at Audiomack Studios with Radamiz and Angelo Mota. Nevertheless, in 2017, Craft released his second Mixtape, The Tunnel’s End. The album featured singles such as The Feels and New York Shit. In his nonstop freestyle, he referenced every NBA team, every member of the 2016-2017 XXL Freshman classes, and another on Statik Selektah’s Shade 45 radio show.
In addition, Craft also released a series of EPs called A dollar in Quarters. In 2018, Marlon partnered with Same Plate Entertainment. On the label, he released NY Baby featuring Bodega Bamz. That same year, in November, he appeared on Masta Ace and Marco Polo’s album, A Breukelen Story. He had also created an art collective, a movement and lifestyle brand called OUR.S. In early 2021, he announced his second debut album, How We Intended, would be released in February. Ahead of Joe Biden’s inauguration as president, Marlon released the State of the Union.
